Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod News

At the synodical convention held in July, the LCMS elected a new president for our Synod:

Rev. Matthew Harrison. He has been the Executive Director for Lutheran World Relief. Also at the 2010 synodical convention many changes to synod structure and governance were voted on and passed. If you want to learn more information you can go to: www.lcms.org . Please pray for our new synod president as he will be installed on September 11, 2010.

Stephanie Bowman has resigned her position here as organist, choir director and janitor to take a position as Youth Director at First Lutheran Church.  We thank Stephanie and the entire Bowman family for sharing their talents with us.

Janitor Position – We have a janitor position available for cleaning the lower level (basement), preschool room and the office area. If you are interested or would like more information, contact Collin Hass at 553-2759.

Nursery Volunteers - As our Sunday Education year quickly approaches, it is time once again to open our Nursery.  I am hopeful that we can once again provide child care during the Education Hour (9- 10:15) and then again for Worship (10:30–11:30). In order to make this happen we need your help.  Please consider donating an hour or so every couple of months to this needed program.   If interested or would like more information please contact, Carrie Dunphy at 686-0417 or email me at pc4l@milwpc.com

Remember to save Campbell labels and Kwik Trip bag tops and caps for our preschool. Place them in the box provided on the children’s coat rack.

RYMS ROOM REPAINTING--SPLATTER PAINTING!!!

Saturday, September 11, beginning at 9:00 AM the RYMS room will be repainted, per the request of Redeemer Youth.   If you have any extra "colored" paint laying around the house, bring it by the church and the youth will be able to use it!

Prayer Requests - In the narthex, you will notice a small wooden box with crosses on it. This is our prayer request box. If you have a prayer request that you would like the pastors to pray for during worship, fill out the index card and place it in the box. The ushers will collect them 5 minutes prior to worship and give them to the pastors. If you would like your request to remain confidential, you do not need to include your name. Please make sure that the request is legible for the pastors to be able to read it!
