What did I miss on January 21?
Coming to Terms with the Law
Today, the 13 of us talked about the Law that God has given his creation. A simple summary of the Law would be this: "The Will of God for His Creation".
This law, whether we like it or not is knit into the very fabric of creation. The law has been written on our hearts and it is like an instinct. The 10 Commandments are not a bunch of rules that God created to make our life miserable, it is simply an expression of God's desire for His people.
When we do something wrong, there are consequences. When you are pulled over for speeding down the interstate, the consequence is often a traffic ticket. This consequence is built into our civil laws. You already know what to expect. When we disobey God's Law, it is not that God punishes us for disobedience--there are natural consequences for our disobedience.
It is important for us to always remember that we are not Freed from the Law, but we are Freed from the curse of the Law, which is eternal death and damnation.
God's Good Laws are hardwired into every aspect of our world.
Knowing this, how can this impact our lives and what difference
will it make in our daily lives?

What did I miss on January 7?

Today, we began our study and got to know each other! We had 13 men join us this morning which was awesome! It was great to see the wide range in ages and backgrounds join us! We spent some extra time this morning getting to know each other and learning about our own personal backgrounds.

As we dove into the Scriptures, we looked at the very beginning--CREATION. Specifically, Genesis 2 & 3. We talked about how God created Man in His image. God gave us the breath of life,
as He got dirty in the dust of the ground.
As we begin this study looking at Who Am I? What Am I Doing Here? We first need to see Who We Are!
Who are We?
1. Dust--God created us out of the earth
2. Created in God's Image
3. Sinful, because man chose to disobey God's Command
4. God's Redeemed and Holy Child through the death
and resurrection of Jesus Christ!

Our assignment for next time is to bring a friend! Also, to dive into the Scriptures as Redeemer begins a congregational wide program to read through the Scriptures in a year!
Check the weekly bulletin for the daily readings!

If you want to watch the video or download the lesson from the study, you can go to www.lhmmen.com and register with the site. Look for the Bible study entitled "WHO AM I? WHAT AM I DOING HERE?"

I hope we will see you at our next study on January 21 at 9:00a!
